Baptism is a wonderful celebration of faith and welcome into the Christian community. Whether you're considering baptism for your child or for yourself as an adult, we're here to help and support you.
The Process
- Initial Contact: Contact us to discuss your wishes and arrange a meeting
- Preparation: Meet with our vicar to discuss the meaning of baptism
- Choosing a Date: Select a suitable Sunday during our morning service
- The Service: Celebrate this special moment with family and friends
What You Need to Know
- Baptisms usually take place during our Sunday morning service
- Parents or candidates should attend preparation sessions
- Godparents must be baptised Christians
- There are no fees for baptism, though donations are welcome
- Birth certificate required for infant baptisms
Weddings
Your Special Day
A wedding in church is a wonderful way to begin married life, making vows before God, family, and friends. St. Andrew's provides a beautiful historic setting for your special day.

- Legal Requirements: We'll help you understand the legal process
- Preparation Meetings: Meet with our vicar to plan your service
- Rehearsal: Practice the service with your wedding party
- Your Wedding Day: Celebrate your marriage in our beautiful church
Legal Requirements
- One party must live in the parish or be on the church electoral roll
- Alternatively, qualify through family connections to the church
- Banns must be read on three Sundays before the wedding
- Valid photo ID required for both parties
- Divorce decree absolute needed if previously married
What's Included
- Use of the church for the ceremony
- Services of our vicar to conduct the ceremony
- Church organist (if required)
- Reading of banns
- Marriage certificate
- Basic church decorations
Funerals

For young people and adults wanting to confirm their faith and become full members of the Church of England.
When: Annual preparation course, usually confirmed by the Bishop in spring
